Sooners Return to Action in Minnesota

NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's golf team continues its fall schedule this weekend at the 15-team Gopher Invitational in Independence, Minn. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played Sunday-Monday (Sept. 13-14) at the par-71, 7,152-yard Windsong Farm Golf Club.

The Sooners are back in action following a fourth-place showing at the Carmel Cup in Pebble Beach, Calif. Senior Luke Kwon and junior Max McGreevy were OU's top finishers, each claiming a share of 10th place with overall scores of 217 (+1).

Seventh-year OU head coach Ryan Hybl said his squad is eager to contend in the upcoming event.

“We are ready to get up to Minnesota. The weather is going to be great, and I have heard the golf course is phenomenal,” Hybl said. “We are looking forward to the opportunity to compete this week against a great field, and our hope will be to put ourselves in a position where we have a chance to win.”

OU's lineup for the Gopher Invitational will include Kwon, senior Beau Titsworth, McGreevy, sophomore Grant Hirschman and freshman Brad Dalke.

Grant Hirschman, Sophomore: Coming off a 70 (-2) final round at the season-opening Carmel Cup, tying for 16th place … Named a 2015 Division I PING All-America Honorable Mention selection … Played in all 13 events as a freshman, finishing within the top five once, top 10 five times and the top 20 a total of nine times … Concluded 2014-15 season ranked No. 69 by Golfweek.

2. Max McGreevy, Junior: Tied for 10th place at Carmel Cup, his seventh career top-10 finish … Competed in 12 of OU's 13 team events last season … Placed within the top 10 four times and the top 20 five times … Tallied a 72.6 (+1.17) scoring average, the second best on the team … Finished in a career-best tie for second place at 2015 NCAA San Diego Regional with a three round 208 (-8).

3. Luke Kwon, Redshirt Senior: Earned his first career top-10 finish at Carmel Cup with a share of 10th place … Competed in nine events last year, including eight in the team lineup… Shot an OU career-low 54-hole score of 215 (-1) at 2015 Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters, tying for 23rd place… Posted a 74.64 (+3.36) scoring average last season.

4. Brad Dalke, Freshman: Finished the Carmel Cup, his first collegiate event, with a tie for 27th place … Won 2015 Junior PGA Championship… Four-time AJGA First Team All-American… Won 2011 AJGA Thunderbird Invitational at age 13, the youngest to win an invitational… Member of the 2014 USA Junior Ryder Cup team… Competed in the AJGA Wyndham Cup five times, breaking Tiger Woods' record for most appearances.

5. Beau Titsworth, Senior: Competed in 11 events last year, including nine in the team lineup … Earned a share of first place at last season's Liberty Spring Invitational with an overall score of 213 (-3) … Has 16 career top-20 showings, including earning a share of 20th place at the 2015 Big 12 Championship.

THE COURSE
The par-71, 7,152-yard Windsong Farm Golf Club serves as the site for the Gopher Invitational.

FORMAT
Fifty-four holes will be played over two days. The Sooners' tee times will begin at 9 a.m. CT on Sunday, followed by the second round that afternoon. The final round will start Monday morning.
