NORMAN — University of Oklahoma men's golfers Michael Gellerman, Charlie Saxon and Beau Titsworth were among the 206 Division I golfers named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

In 2014-15, seniors Gellerman and Saxon and junior Titsworth all competed regularly for the Sooners. The trio also appeared on the 2015 Academic All-Big 12 Men's Golf First Team, and this marks the second straight season Gellerman and Saxon have received the All-America Scholar honor. At least one Sooner golfer has earned the honor in each of head coach Ryan Hybl's six seasons at OU.

In his senior campaign, Gellerman led the team with a career-best 72.15 (+0.80) scoring average and three top-five finishes, eight top-10 showings and 11 top-20 finishes in 13 team events. The Sterling, Kan., native finished in a season-best tie for second place at the NCAA San Diego Regional with a three-round 208 (-8) to help the Sooners to a 20-stroke victory. For his efforts, Gellerman was named a third-team Division I PING All-American, to the 10-member All-Big 12 Team and to the Division I PING All-Central Region Team this season.

Saxon, who missed the entire fall season with an injury, competed in nine team events as a senior. He finished with a scoring average of 73.57 (+1.96) and posted one top-five finish, two top-10 showings and five top-20 finishes. Saxon, who is from Tulsa, Okla., fired a career-low-matching 65 (-7) in the first round of the prestigious Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters, where he tied for seventh place. His best showing came at the Liberty Spring Invitational as he tied for first place.

Competing in 11 events, including nine in the team lineup, Titsworth tallied a 74.47 (+3.24) scoring average in his junior season. The Avon Lake, Ohio, native placed within the top five once and top 20 four times. At the Liberty Spring Invitational, Titsworth finished in a season-best, six-way tie for first place with a three-round 213 (-3).

To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
