NORMAN – Oklahoma seniors Lauren Chamberlain and Shelby Pendley's historic seasons have earned them spots among the 10 finalists for the 2015 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, the Amateur Softball Association of America and USA Softball announced Wednesday.

Oklahoma and Florida were the only programs to have two players among the top 10. Auburn, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon, UCLA and UCF were also represented.

This season, Pendley leads the team with a .436 batting average, 61 hits, 24 home runs, 65 runs batted in and a 1.036 slugging percentage. Nationally, she ranks second in home runs and home runs per game (0.50), fourth in slugging, fifth in runs per game (1.27), seventh in RBI per game (1.35) and 10th in RBI.

Pendley has also posted a .554 on-base percentage, scored 66 runs and tallied 12 doubles, 36 walks and five stolen bases. In addition, she has made 21 appearances in the circle. With a record of 12-1, Pendley has a 2.33 earned run average and 64 strikeouts and 23 walks in 63.0 innings pitched.

Chamberlain leads the Sooners with 66 runs scored, 60 walks and a .602 OBP. She's posted a .398 batting average to go along with 10 double, four triples, 19 home runs, eight stolen bases and a .984 slugging percentage.

In the NCAA, Chamberlain is second in runs per game (1.32) and walks per game (1.20), fifth in slugging and sixth in OBP.

Chamberlain and Pendley, who last month became the first teammates in history to be taken with the first two picks of the NPF Draft, can find their names throughout the history books.

Both are among the top six on the all-time home run list as Chamberlain broke the all-time mark with her 91st at North Texas on April 30. Pendley is alone in sixth place with 84. Both players are also in the top 11 of career slugging percentage and RBI. Chamberlain has the all-time slugging mark of .957 and Pendley is ninth at .846. Pendley's 269 RBI rank seventh all-time, while Chamberlain's 247 rank 11th.
