Winners of 15 of its past 16 games, No. 6/5 Oklahoma visits Oklahoma State for the first installment of Bedlam in 2015. The two teams will close out the series to end the regular season on May 9-10.

SERIES HISTORY
Oklahoma has a 79-70 all-time advantage over Oklahoma State, but trails in Stillwater, 33-26. The Sooners have won nine straight in the series and 12 of the past 13 matchups. No current player on the OU roster has ever lost to OSU.

The Sooners have won the Bedlam Cup 11 times in the 13 years since the official start of the Bedlam Series in 2001. The trophy has never left Norman, with OU retaining it in 2003 and 2010.

Since the Big 12's inception, OU has done no worse than a split against OSU in the regular season series and claimed in-state bragging rights in 16 of the 19 seasons.

The Sooners have more wins over the Cowgirls than any other team in program history.

 Oklahoma State  79  70  .530
 Iowa State  71  28  .717
 Kansas  56  42  .571
 Missouri  51  41  .554
 Baylor  50  12  .806

In addition, Oklahoma has not faced another team more than it has faced Oklahoma State.

Opponent  Total Games  Win-Loss  Win Pct.
 Oklahoma State  149  79-70  .530
 Iowa State  99  71-28  .717
 Kansas  98  56-42  .571
 Missouri  92  51-41  .554
 Nebraska  85  41-44  .482

Last year, OU took all three games, including two in Norman. In the opener, Kelsey Stevens fired a six-hit shutout with eight strikeouts as Oklahoma won 2-0. A 5-4 win in the second game, with all five runs coming in the second inning, gave OU the outright Big 12 title. In the finale, the Sooners scored seven runs over the first two innings en route to an 11-3, five-inning win.

CHAMBERLAIN TIES ALL-TIME HR RECORD
With 90 career home runs, senior Lauren Chamberlain is tied for the all-time home run record and is just one homer away from breaking it.

 HR  Player, School  Years
 90  Stacey Nuveman, UCLA  '97, '99, '01-02
 90  Lauren Chamberlain, Oklahoma  '12-Pres.

Chamberlain tied the mark in Saturday's 11-3, five-inning win over Baylor. Facing Baylor relief pitcher Sarah Beth Toben in the fourth inning, Chamberlain took a called strike before letting two balls pass. On a 2-1 count, Chamberlain drove a pitch near the outside corner out of the stadium to put the Sooners on top 5-2. It took Chamberlain 206 games and 571 at-bats to reach the mark of 90, while Nuveman finished her career with 90 home runs in 264 games and 691 at-bats.

BEST BIG 12 STARTS
Now 11-1 in the Big 12, this is just the third time in school history that the Sooners have lost once in their first 12 conference games.

SHELBY PENDLEY ENJOYS REMARKABLE HOT STREAK
By her standards, Shelby Pendley started the 2015 season slowly. But in the past 24 games she has enjoyed a streak few can match.

Pendley missed four games March 7-8, but made an immediate impact upon her return. Over her first six games upon return, the NFCA National Player of the Week reached safely in 20 of 24 trips to the plate for a .833 on-base percentage by going 15-19 (.789) with five walks. Of her 15 hits, eight were homers and three were doubles for a 2.211 slugging percentage.

Pendley set a school record by homering in five straight games. In fact, only eight other players in NCAA Division I history have had a home run streak reach five games.

A CLASS OF THEIR OWN
The 2015 campaign marks the final seasons for Oklahoma seniors Georgia Casey, Lauren Chamberlain, Callie Parsons, Shelby Pendley and Jessica Vest. Since stepping on campus three years ago (Pendley transferred to OU in 2013), no team has a better win percentage than the OU seniors and only Florida, which has played eight more games, has more wins.

IN THE POLLS
After a 3-1 week, Oklahoma slipped to No. 6 in the NFCA poll but remained at No. 5 in the USA Softball poll for the third straight week. OU has been ranked sixth or better in each of the polls for the last 13 weeks. The Sooners also climbed four spots in the RPI to No. 13.

Oklahoma is the only program to be ranked every week of the NFCA poll. The Sooners entered the rankings at No. 18 in the first poll on January 24, 1995. They have not dropped out since -- 301 straight polls. Likewise, the Sooners have been ranked every week of the USA Softball poll, dating back to the 2003 season when they opened at No. 11.

CHAMBERLAIN, PENDLEY DUBBED 'RUTH AND GEHRIG'
In a Feb. 2 article on ESPNW.com, writer Graham Hays referred to OU's Lauren Chamberlain and Shelby Pendley as the Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig of college softball.

“In Chamberlain and Pendley, Oklahoma has the closest combination college softball might see to Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig,” Hays wrote. “One is the face and voice of a sport, the other the quiet embodiment of excellence. Good luck stopping them.”

Chamberlain and Pendley rank first and second nationally among active players in career home runs (through 4/19).

PENDLEY ONE OF 10 FINALISTS FOR SENIOR CLASS AWARD
Shelby Pendley has been chosen as one of 10 finalists for the 2015 Senior CLASS Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.

The finalists were chosen by national media from the list of 30 candidates announced in March. Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to help select the winner. Fan votes will be combined with those of the media and Division I head coaches to determine the winners. The Senior CLASS Award recipient for softball will be announced during the 2015 NCAA Women's College World Series, which runs May 28 through June 3 in Oklahoma City. Fans can begin voting now through May 11 on SeniorCLASSAward.com.

CHAMBERLAIN, PENDLEY UP FOR USA SOFTBALL P.O.Y.
Seniors Lauren Chamberlain and Shelby Pendley have been named two of 26 finalists for the 2015 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. Oklahoma was one of seven schools to have multiple players on the list, joining Arizona, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oregon and UCLA.

Just prior to the start of postseason play, on May 6 the list will be narrowed to the Top 10 Finalists. The Top 3 Finalists will be announced May 20, while the winner of the 2015 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award will be revealed on May 26 prior to the start of the WCWS in Oklahoma City.

The USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year is considered the most prestigious honor in Division I women's collegiate softball and recognizes the outstanding athletic achievement by female players across the country.

SOONERS TAKE TWO OF THREE FROM BAYLOR
The Sooners sit 11-1 in Big 12 play after taking two of three games from Baylor last weekend. Baylor dropped to 6-3 in conference play, giving OU a 3.5 game cushion on the Lady Bears with six games remaining for Oklahoma.

Baylor took it to the Sooners in game one, snapping OU's 12-game win streak with an 8-0, six-inning win. Dating back to last season, OU had won 15 straight games within league play, going down as the second-longest Big 12 winning streak in program history.

Oklahoma was able to even the series in game two with a 5-2 win. Georgia Casey had a three-run double in the first inning, while Shelby Pendley added a two-run homer in the second. Paige Parker struck out eight to earn the win.

In the finale, Chamberlain tied the home run record to spark a seven-run fourth inning as OU cruised to an 11-3, five-inning win.
