After six straight Big 12 games, No. 5/5 Oklahoma briefly steps out of conference play Monday as it welcomes North Texas to Norman.

The Sooners and Mean Green will finally meet Monday night after previous games were postponed. After OU's home opening weekend was cancelled, OU was scheduled to meet North Texas in Houston for a doubleheader on March 1. However, in game one, Oklahoma led 5-0 in the bottom of the second inning before the game went into a rain delay and was eventually called off.

The teams were then supposed to play last Tuesday, but inclement weather in Denton forced the game to be postponed until April 30.

SERIES HISTORY
Oklahoma is a perfect 25-0 against North Texas. Not only is the 25-0 record Oklahoma's best undefeated mark against another team, the 25 straight wins are the second longest active streak against one opponent by OU.

OU's Best Undefeated Marks

 Opponent  Wins  Losses
 North Texas  25  0
 Stephen F. Austin  12  0
 Central Arkansas  8  0
 Kent State  7  0
 North Carolina  7  0

OU's Longest Active Winning Streaks

Opponent  Streak  Series Record  Win Pct.
 Wichita State  30  43-7  .860
 North Texas  25  25-0  1.000
 Iowa State  24  71-28  .717
 Creighton  15  16-11  .593
 Stephen F. Austin  12  12-0  1.000

Oklahoma and North Texas have met every season since 2004. Last year, Kelsey Stevens was just three outs away from her first no-hitter as a Sooner, but still managed a one-hitter as OU shut out North Texas, 3-0, on April 23.

Stevens allowed just two baserunners during the entire contest, the first of which was a walk to Jordan Terry to lead off the second inning. From there, Stevens retired the next 15 batters she faced until Spencer Ferrell singled to left field on the first pitch of the seventh inning. Then-junior Georgia Casey hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning, while then-senior Brittany Williams added a solo shot in the sixth.

PROMOTIONS
The first 250 fans receive a Callie Parsons poster, while hot dogs and cokes are just 50 cents.

CHAMBERLAIN TIES ALL-TIME HR RECORD
With 90 career home runs, senior Lauren Chamberlain is tied for the all-time home run record and is just one homer away from breaking it.
 HR  Player, School  Years
 90  Stacey Nuveman, UCLA  '97, '99, '01-02
 90  Lauren Chamberlain, Oklahoma  '12-Pres.

Chamberlain tied the mark in Saturday's 11-3, five-inning win over Baylor. Facing Baylor relief pitcher Sarah Beth Toben in the fourth inning, Chamberlain took a called strike before letting two balls pass. On a 2-1 count, Chamberlain drove a pitch near the outside corner out of the stadium to put the Sooners on top 5-2. It took Chamberlain 206 games and 571 at-bats to reach the mark of 90, while Nuveman finished her career with 90 home runs in 264 games and 691 at-bats.

BEST BIG 12 STARTS
Now 11-1 in the Big 12, this is just the third time in school history that the Sooners have lost once in their first 12 conference games.

SHELBY PENDLEY ENJOYS REMARKABLE HOT STREAK
By her standards, Shelby Pendley started the 2015 season slowly. But in the past 24 games she has enjoyed a streak few can match.

Stat  First 16 Games  Last 24 Games
 AVG/OBP/SLG  .289/.459/.556  .529/.637/1.457

 2B/3B/HR  3/0/3  5/0/20
 RBI  15  42
 Total Bases  25  102
 Walks/Strikeouts  13/6  18/7

Pendley missed four games March 7-8, but made an immediate impact upon her return. Over her first six games upon return, the NFCA National Player of the Week reached safely in 20 of 24 trips to the plate for a .833 on-base percentage by going 15-19 (.789) with five walks. Of her 15 hits, eight were homers and three were doubles for a 2.211 slugging percentage.

March 14 vs. Iowa: 3-4, 3 runs, 2B, HR, RBI, BB
March 14 vs. ECU: 3-3, 3 runs, 3 HR (tied school record), 5 RBI
March 15 vs. ECU: 3-5, 3 runs, 2B, 2 HR, 6 RBI
March 15 vs. Iowa: 1-1, run, HR, 2 RBI, 3 BB
March 16 vs. Iowa: 2-2, run, HR, 2 RBI,
March 17 at Wichita St.: 3-4, 2 runs, 2B, 2 RBI

Pendley set a school record by homering in five straight games. In fact, only eight other players in NCAA Division I history have had a home run streak reach five games.

A CLASS OF THEIR OWN
The 2015 campaign marks the final seasons for Oklahoma seniors Georgia Casey, Lauren Chamberlain, Callie Parsons, Shelby Pendley and Jessica Vest. Since stepping on campus three years ago (Pendley transferred to OU in 2013), no team has a better win percentage than the OU seniors and only Florida, which has played nine more games, has more wins.

IN THE POLLS
Oklahoma was No. 5 in the NFCA and USA Softball polls for the second straight week. OU has been ranked sixth or better in each of the polls for the last 12 weeks. The Sooners also climbed in the RPI to No. 17.

Oklahoma is the only program to be ranked every week of the NFCA poll. The Sooners entered the rankings at No. 18 in the first poll on January 24, 1995. They have not dropped out since -- 300 straight polls. Likewise, the Sooners have been ranked every week of the USA Softball poll, dating back to the 2003 season when they opened at No. 11.

CHAMBERLAIN, PENDLEY DUBBED 'RUTH AND GEHRIG'
In a Feb. 2 article on ESPNW.com, writer Graham Hays referred to OU's Lauren Chamberlain and Shelby Pendley as the Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig of college softball.

“In Chamberlain and Pendley, Oklahoma has the closest combination college softball might see to Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig,” Hays wrote. “One is the face and voice of a sport, the other the quiet embodiment of excellence. Good luck stopping them.”

Chamberlain and Pendley rank first and second nationally among active players in career home runs (through 4/19).

 Lauren Chamberlain  Oklahoma  30  30  12  18  90

PENDLEY ONE OF 10 FINALISTS FOR SENIOR CLASS AWARD
Shelby Pendley has been chosen as one of 10 finalists for the 2015 Senior CLASS Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.

The finalists were chosen by national media from the list of 30 candidates announced in March. Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to help select the winner. Fan votes will be combined with those of the media and Division I head coaches to determine the winners. The Senior CLASS Award recipient for softball will be announced during the 2015 NCAA Women's College World Series, which runs May 28 through June 3 in Oklahoma City. Fans can begin voting now through May 11 on SeniorCLASSAward.com.

CHAMBERLAIN, PENDLEY UP FOR USA SOFTBALL P.O.Y.
Seniors Lauren Chamberlain and Shelby Pendley have been named two of 26 finalists for the 2015 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. Oklahoma was one of seven schools to have multiple players on the list, joining Arizona, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oregon and UCLA.

Just prior to the start of postseason play, on May 6 the list will be narrowed to the Top 10 Finalists. The Top 3 Finalists will be announced May 20, while the winner of the 2015 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award will be revealed on May 26 prior to the start of the WCWS in Oklahoma City.

The USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year is considered the most prestigious honor in Division I women's collegiate softball and recognizes the outstanding athletic achievement by female players across the country.

SOONERS TAKE TWO OF THREE FROM BAYLOR
The Sooners sit 11-1 in Big 12 play after taking two of three games from Baylor last weekend. Baylor dropped to 6-3 in conference play, giving OU a 3.5 game cushion on the Lady Bears with six games remaining for Oklahoma.

Baylor took it to the Sooners in game one, snapping OU's 12-game win streak with an 8-0, six-inning win. Dating back to last season, OU had won 15 straight games within league play, going down as the second-longest Big 12 winning streak in program history.

Oklahoma was able to even the series in game two with a 5-2 win. Georgia Casey had a three-run double in the first inning, while Shelby Pendley added a two-run homer in the second. Paige Parker struck out eight to earn the win.

In the finale, Chamberlain tied the home run record to spark a seven-run fourth inning as OU cruised to an 11-3, five-inning win.
