OU Competes Against KSU in Scrimmage

NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma rowing team kicked off its spring schedule on Saturday with a scrimmage against Big 12 foe Kansas State. Both the varsity and novice squads took to the river and competed in a number of different races.

“It was a productive day for all of our squads," said head coach Leeanne Crain. "I was impressed with the overall depth of the team this early in the season. All of our boats performed well, but we also learned that we have a lot of work to do between now and Big 12's.

"The conference continues to get stronger every year and we need to continue to progress every week so that we're ready for the competition in May.”

The Sooners are back in action next weekend as the squad travels to Oak Ridge, Tenn., to compete in the Cardinal Invitational on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15.

The lineups OU used for Saturday are below. It should be noted that Jade Nelson replaced Nicasia D'Allesandro as coxswain of the second varsity eight boat in the afternoon session and Taylor Arnold, Emily Erdman and Morgan Corn replaced Emily Coffman, Tylynn Bourquin and Cameron Robison in the third novice eigh boat in the afternoon session.
