Stevens threw a season high 11 strikeouts, one off her career high of 12 ... it was the 41st no-hitter in program history ... the last time OU had multiple pitchers throw no-hitters in the same season was 2007 when Lauren Eckermann had three and D.J. Mathis threw one  ... senior Callie Parsons made her first career start at first base for the Sooners ... OU hit three sacrifice flies in the game

CONROE, Texas – Junior Kelsey Stevens threw the second no-hitter of her career, and her first as a Sooner, as No. 6/4 Oklahoma (13-3) opened a doubleheader Saturday against IPFW (0-12) with a 5-0 win at the Scrap Yard Sports Complex in Conroe, Texas.

The teams were originally scheduled to play in Norman, but they agreed to move the games to just outside of Houston due to cold and snowy conditions in Oklahoma.

Despite the new surroundings, Stevens shined in the circle. She struck out a season-high 11 batters, one off her career high, and walked just one. The lone baserunner she allowed was a one-out walk to Christina DeLong in the second inning.

From there, Stevens proceeded to set down the next 17 batters as she was perfect over the final 5.2 innings. She struck out at least one batter in every frame, including two punchouts in the first, third, fourth and fifth innings.

The no-hitter was the second of Stevens' career. While a freshman at Stanford, Stevens threw a perfect game with 10 strikeouts against Virginia on Feb. 23, 2013. It was also the second no-hitter of the season for OU as freshman Paige Parker recorded a perfect game of her own at Hawaii on Feb. 7. It was the 41st no-hitter in program history.

Oklahoma's offense backed up Stevens by opening up the scoring in the first.

With one out, senior Shelby Pendley was hit by a pitch. Parker followed with a bloop single to right field, and Pendley aggressively took third on the play. The extra hustle paid off as junior Erin Miller's fly ball to left center was deep enough for a sacrifice fly to score Pendley and make it 1-0.

After a scoreless second, the Sooners gave themselves a bigger cushion thanks to a three-run third inning.

Freshman Nicole Pendley led off the inning with a bunt single back to the pitcher. She then stole second before junior Tori Nirschl pinch hit for Parker. On a 2-2 pitch, Nirschl sliced a blooper that landed on the left field foul line, enabling Nicole Pendley to score and double the lead at 2-0.

Nirschl moved to second on the play thanks to a throwing error by the IPFW left fielder, but it wouldn't matter in the end as Miller hit a hard grounder up the middle that ran all the way to the wall in right center for her team-best third triple of the season. Miller's hustle to third worked out well for the Sooners as junior Kady Self lifted the team's second sac fly of the game to center field to make it 4-0.

The Sooners added to their lead again in the fourth thanks to another triple and another sacrifice fly.

Senior Callie Parsons, who was making her first career start at first base in place of the injured Lauren Chamberlain, hit a sinking liner to left field that was missed by a diving Prestlee Cooper. It ran to the wall for Parsons' first triple of the season, and she came home when senior Jessica Vest lifted a fly ball to left field.
