Sooners End U.S. Collegiate in Ninth

NORMAN—The No. 10 Oklahoma men's golf team finished the U.S. Collegiate Championship in ninth place with an overall 874 (+10). The three-day, 54-hole tournament took place at the par-72, 2,017-yard Lakeside Course at the Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, Ga.
No. 2 Auburn and No. 3 Wake Forest tied for first place at 855 (-9) against a competitive 17-team field that included 15 teams ranked in the Golfweek/Sagarin top 50 and seven in the top 10. No. 20 Clemson took third at 859 (-5), and No. 4 Florida State finished fourth, one stroke behind the Tigers. Rounding out the top five was host team Georgia Tech at 867 (+3).
The top finisher for the Sooners was sophomore Grant Hirschman, who led the team each round of the tournament. Hirschman went 1 under par Sunday to total an overall 214 (-2). He ended the weekend in a tie for 13th place, his best finish of the season and the 11th top-20 placing of his career.
Also finishing in the top 20 was freshman Brad Dalke. He pocketed three birdies in the final round en route to a 70 (-2). An overall even-par 216 earned the freshman a tie for 18th place, his second career top-20 finish.
Senior Luke Kwon struggled Sunday, finishing the round with a 78 (+6) that put him into a tie for 50th place. Sophomore Rylee Reinertson ended the tournament in a tie for 55th place with a 225 (+9) after going 5 over par in the third round.
Junior Max McGreevy recorded a final-round 75 (+3) and finished in a tie for 60th place with an overall 226 (+10). Senior Beau Titsworth, who competed as an individual and was unattached from team scoring, shot a 76 (+4) Sunday and 233 (+17) for the tournament and ended in a tie for 85th place.
The Sooners are set to conclude their fall season Nov. 6-8 (Friday-Sunday) in Maui, Hawaii at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic.
