NORMAN, Okla. – Plenty of familiar faces will be back on the campus of the University of Oklahoma this weekend as the Sooners' softball program hosts its alumni weekend.
After a team banquet on Friday night, current and former athletes will gather Saturday morning at Marita Hynes Field.
Gates are scheduled to open at 9 a.m. followed by an alumni game at 10 a.m. At the conclusion of the alumni contest, former Sooners will test their skills against members of the current OU staff in a pitching challenge. To wrap up the day, a home run derby will pit former student-athletes against the current Sooners.
Fans are invited to attend Saturday's festivities.
Among those former Sooners expected to be in attendance include Jennifer Stewart, Kelli Braitsch, Lisa Carey, Kaycee Clark, Amber Flores, Michelle Gascoigne, Savannah Long, Destinee Martinez, Jessica Shults, Brittany Williams and more.
In addition, the 2014 Sooners softball team will be recognized after the first quarter of the Oklahoma football home opener Saturday night in recognition for winning the 2014 Big 12 Championship.
