OU WINS ANOTHER BATTLE FOR FIRST PLACE
For three straight weekends, the first-place Sooners took on the team right behind them in the Big 12 standings. In nine such contests, Oklahoma went 7-2, putting the Sooners in position to win an unprecedented third staight Big 12 title. No team has won three consecutive league champsionships, and back-to-back crowns have only happened three times (Oklahoma in '99-00, Texas in '02-03 and Oklahoma in '12-13).
On April 4-6, the 4-0 Sooners swept a three-game series, including a pair of run-rule wins, against a Kansas team that entered 3-0. April 11-13, OU was 7-0 when it visited Baylor, which was 3-1. The Sooners then took two of three games from the Bears. This past weekend, the 9-1 Sooners welcomed in 6-1 Texas and proceeded to take two of three games.
SERIES WIN OVER TEXAS PUTS OU IN BIG 12 LEAD
Oklahoma controls its own destiny for the Big 12 title after winning the series against Texas last weekend. A pair of home runs in the fifth inning of the opener by Georgia Casey and Brittany Williams aided Kelsey Stevens' three-hitter in OU's 4-1 victory. Texas battled back with a 9-0, six-inning win in game two, handing the Sooners their first run-rule loss since March 28, 2009. In the rubber match, a four-run first and four-run third were the difference in an 8-0, five-inning win.
BEST BIG 12 STARTS
Prior to its loss at Baylor on April 13, OU was 9-0 in Big 12 play, tying for the best start to conference play in program history.

OU TAKES TWO OF THREE AT BAYLOR
Oklahoma took two of three at Baylor to maintain control of the Big 12 title race. A two-run homer from Leslie Miller and RBI triple by Georgia Casey in the fifth gave OU a 3-2 win in the opener. Game two saw Kelsey Stevens fire a one-hitter and Kady Self and Shelby Pendley delivered RBI singles to give the Sooners a 2-0 win. Baylor salvaged one game in the series, winning the finale 8-6 to end OU's 14-game win streak.
