NORMAN, Okla. – After competing in California last weekend, the Oklahoma rowing team travels to the opposite side of the country to race in the Clemson Invitational in Clemson, S.C. this Saturday and Sunday.
The Invitational begins at 7:52 a.m. CT when OU will race in the varsity eight against crews from Columbia, No. 18 Clemson, No. 25 Gonzaga, Oregon State, Tennessee and Texas.
Over the two-day regatta, the Sooners will also go toe-to-toe against a smattering of ranked opponents, including No. 16 Cornell, No. 20 Indiana, No. 21 Oregon State, No. 22 Louisville, No. 23 Dartmouth and No. 24 Michigan State.
Races will be streamed live online here. The first 1,000 meters will be broadcast via audio stream with the final 1,000 meters of each race shown on live video stream.
Last weekend, Oklahoma's varsity eight, second varsity eight and novice eight all earned wins against some of the top competition in the country at the Lake Natoma Invitational. The Sooner 1V8 earned Big 12 Boat of the Week honors for their performance in defeating Kansas and Sacramento State in the regatta's final session.
The Sooners have won 17 races overall this fall season in their two previous invitationals with this weekend closing out the regular season before OU will defend its Big 12 Championship title as host of the conference meet on May 3 in Oklahoma City.
