After 29 non-conference games to start the season, two-time defending conference champion Oklahoma opens Big 12 play with a three-game series at Iowa State.

The Sooners won all three games vs. the Cylcones last year by a combined score of 44-1 and won all three in five innings.
The opener saw OU post a then-school record for runs in a 24-1 win. The Sooners hit three home runs, including a pair of grand slams. Oklahoma scored 11 runs in the first inning and then 12 more in the second inning. In game two, junior Shelby Pendley was 3-4 with a three-run HR, two-run double and an RBI single as OU won 8-0. In the finale, Keilani Ricketts threw a no-hitter and a seven-run first inning carried OU to a 12-0 triumph.
CHAMBERLAIN SIDELINED WITH BACK INJURY
A back injury, which occurred on March 13, has sidelined Lauren Chamberlain. According to the OU medical staff, the injury typically takes six weeks for recovery.
Chamberlain has not played since the Tulsa contest on March 9 (six games) after after she had not missed a start in the first 148 contests of her OU career. Prior to her injury, Chamberlain was on a hot streak after a slow start to the 2014 season.

PENDLEY'S HIT STREAK AT CAREER-BEST 13 GAMES
Junior Shelby Pendley is the owner of a career-best 13-game hitting streak. The streak dates back to a 4-4 performance in game two of a doubleheader against Arkansas Pine-Bluff on Feb. 28.
During the streak, Pendley has hit .500 with 20 hits in 40 at-bats. In addition she's slugging 1.050 with a .615 on-base percentage. Pendley has six home runs, four doubles, 18 RBI and 16 runs scored during her run, which is the longest by an OU player this season and the longest since Lauren Chamberlain's 17-game hitting streak from April 28, 2013 to Feb. 7, 2014.
PENDLEY JOINS 50-HR CLUB
With a solo home run against LSU on March 22, junior Shelby Pendley became the fourth active player in Division I, and one of two juniors along with teammate Lauren Chamberlain, to hit 50 career home runs (through 3/23).
