EARLYSVILLE, Virginia -- The Oklahoma rowing team traveled to Earlysville, Virginia on Sunday to wrap up the fall portion of the schedule at the Rivanna Romp. OU entered a total of six boats between two races in the field loaded with some of the nation's best programs. 

The Sooners got the day underway with the varsity eight race. In the deep field of 24 boats, Oklahoma's two entries both placed in the top 15. The Sooners' A boat finished ninth with a time of 14:13.3 and the B boat wasn't too far behind, turning in a 15th place finish, crossing the finish line in 14:38.2. Host Virginia won the race in a time of 13:09.8 and had three of the top four finishes.

Oklahoma entered four boats in its last race of the day for the Sooners, the varsity four. All four of Oklahoma's boats finished in the top 25 of the 37 team field. OU notched its best result of the day with a seventh place finish, as the Oklahoma A turned in a time of 15:44.1. The Sooners' C squad had a great race, placing 13th with a mark of 15:57.9. OU's D and B boats placed 24th and 25th respectively with the D squad crossing the finish line in 16:25.8 and the B team in 16:28.1.

Virginia again dominated the race, claiming the top three finishes in the varsity four. The Cavaliers' A boat won the race with a time of 15:02.3.

OU is set to train through the winter before opening the spring season on March 7, as the Sooners host Kansas State at 8 a.m. in Oklahoma City.
