NORMAN, Okla. -- The 30th-ranked University of Oklahoma men's golf team looks to claim its 17th conference title as it competes in the Big 12 Championship in Hutchinson, Kan., April 22-24. The 72-hole event, hosted by Kansas State, will be played at the 6,759-yard, par-70 Prairie Dunes Country Club.

The nine-team field features six squads ranked in the Golfweek/Sagarin top 50, including the Sooners, who earned the No. 4 seed in the tournament. OU will face No. 3 Texas, No. 6 TCU, No. 14 Oklahoma State, No. 36 Texas Tech, No. 43 Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State. Five golfers will compete for each team, and the lowest four scores per round will count toward the total score.

"Par is your friend on this great golf course," OU head coach Ryan Hybl said. "Toughness will be premium."

OU's lineup will feature seniors Abraham Ancer and Will Kropp, junior Michael Schoolcraft, sophomore Charlie Saxon and freshman Beau Titsworth.

The Sooners are coming off a ninth-place finish at the Aggie Invitational on April 6 and 7. OU faced a stout field with all 12 teams in the tournament ranked in the top 35.

OU finished fourth at last year's Big 12 Championship at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas. Ancer led OU by tying for third place.

Thirty-six holes of the Big 12 Championship are slated for Monday, with OU teeing off from hole No. 1 beginning at 9 a.m. CT. The Sooners will be paired with Texas Tech and Baylor. Live scoring will be available on GolfStat.com.
