OU Goes to Rivanna Romp to Close Out Fall
November 14, 2013 | Rowing
NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma women's rowing team will conclude its fall competition at the Rivanna Romp Sunday morning on the Rivanna Reservoir.
"We're looking forward to racing against five very competitive teams," said OU head coach Leeanne Crain. "There's a pretty sharp turn on the race course so we'll be looking for our coxswains to navigate with a good degree of precision."
OU will compete against strong competition from Virginia, Penn, Louisville, Old Dominion and West Virginia.
The varsity eight races will begin at 8:30 a.m. CT. The varsity four will start at 9:30 a.m. CT. Boats will go off one at a time in a time trial to determine the winners.
The Sooners have had numerous top-five finishes in their previous three races this fall season, including a silver medal by the varsity eight two weeks ago at the Head of the Heach in Chattanooga, Tenn.
