NORMAN, Okla. – Redshirt Junior Jeremy Rankin was Oklahoma's lone representative at the Air Force Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 26 at the United States Air Force Academy in Colo.
The Aurora, Colo., native finished second in his one event of the day, the 60-meter dash, after he crossed the finish line in a personal-best 6.69. His time marked the first performance of his career under 6.80, after setting a then-personal best in 2011 at the Texas A&M Challenge.
Additionally, the time was enough to put Rankin on the OU top-10 performance list in the event. He now sits fifth on the list, as just one of five Sooners to finish in under 6.70, and is the lone active OU runner on the list in the 60-meter dash. It was the fastest run by a Sooner in the event since Mookie Salaam set the program-record in 2011 with a 6.54 performance.
