NORMAN, Okla. -- Former University of Oklahoma track and field athlete Kerri-Ann Mitchell has been added to Canada's Olympic roster, Athletics Canada announced Sunday.
The Pickering, Ontario, native finished third in the women's 100-meter dash at Canadian Olympic Trials, running a wind-aided 11.34 seconds, Friday, June 29.
Mitchell passed the Olympic B standard in the event by clocking a personal-best 11.36 at the Donovan Bailey Invitational Track Meet in Edmonton on June 16.
Mitchell competed her final collegiate season for the Sooners in 2005 after transferring from Arkansas as an All-American on the Razorbacks' 4x400-meter relay.
Mitchell's addition to Team Canada increases the number of current or former Sooners competing in the London Olympics to 13, including five women from OU track and field who represent four countries.
Preliminary heats of the women's 100-meter dash begin in London Friday, Aug. 3.
