Former Sooner Named Head Coach at Elk City

NORMAN, Okla. — Former OU All-Region catcher Lindsey (Vandever) Mudgett has been named the head coach for the Elk City High School softball program in western Oklahoma. Mudgett, who spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant at OU, lettered for the Sooners from 2007-10 earning first team All-Region honors twice and second team honors once.

A three-time All-Big 12 honoree as a catcher, Mudgett was named the conference's defensive player of the year in 2010 and ranks in the top 10 of many career and single season statistical categories at OU.
