NORMAN, Okla. — No. 5 Oklahoma continued its stronghold on Big 12 weekly honors Tuesday as the Big 12 announced Lauren Chamberlain as its Big 12 Co-Player of the Week and Keilani Ricketts as the Big 12 Co-Pitcher of the Week. For Ricketts, its the fourth such honor in the last five weeks and ninth in her career while Chamberlain, a freshman, earns her second honor of the year.

Oklahoma has captured a Big 12 Player of the Week honor in three of eight weeks and the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honor in four of eight weeks.

The awards come after the duo helped the Sooners to a three-game sweep of Kansas, outscoring the Jayhawks 22-2 over the weekend, and a 4-0 defeat of Oklahoma State last Wednesday in the first leg of the Bedlam Series presented by Farm Bureau.

Already the Big 12 leader in home runs, Chamberlain smacked five more home runs in four Oklahoma Big 12 wins last week. Now with 17 home runs this season, the sixth-best single-season total in Oklahoma history, Chamberlain led the Sooners with a .600 batting average over the last week along with 11 RBIs and 21 total bases. The first-year Sooner finished the weekend with a slugging percentage of 2.100 while picking up three walks and being hit by a pitch in another at bat for an on base percentage of .714.

Chamberlain hit two home runs each in Oklahoma's first two wins over Kansas before hitting just one in Oklahoma's sweep of the Jayhawks. Chamberlain also had 15 putouts and three assists in the infield while recording a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

Ricketts went 3-0 in all three of her starts over the last week including her first career perfect game against Kansas. Ricketts struck out 26 batters in 19 innings of work while giving up just one hit to Oklahoma State in OU's Wednesday night win before her perfect game Friday night against the Jayhawks. The junior closed out the week with a third win vs. KU on Sunday.

Ricketts, who threw complete games in all three starts, allowed just one walk all weekend while holding her opponents to a batting average of .152. The junior also was active at the plate in all three wins with six RBIs and one home run.

Chamberlain shares her honor with Texas Tech's Adriana Perez while Ricketts shared hers with Missouri's Chelsea Thomas.
