OU Earns 23 Academic All-Big 12 Selections

NORMAN, Okla. - The Big 12 named 23 Oklahoma rowers to its Academic All-Big 12 Rowing Team on Wednesday. A total of 86 student-athletes earned the recognition the league office announced Wednesday with the Sooners leading the conference for the most selections. Oklahoma rowing had 19 members selected for the Academic All-Big 12 first team and four members selcted for the second team.
Elizabeth Biggs, Ivy Brown and Ally Gray represent three of the eight rowers from the conference that earned 4.0 grade point averages. Oklahoma tied Kansas State in leading the Big 12 with three 4.0 student athletes.
In order to earn this honor, student-athlets must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's contests. Freshmen and transfer students are not eligbile during their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes must have particpated from a minmum of two years and meet all the criteria except for the 60 percent participation rule are also eligible.
