3:50 p.m. CT
OU's day is done. The Sooners will not run the men's 4x800-meter relay, which was their final scheduled race. There's still one race to be run at the Drake Relays. As soon as we have complete results, we'll have a recap available.
2:33 p.m. CT
Tre Lathan finished sixth in the men's college 110-meter hurdles championship (14.01).

Here's some audio of the crowd earlier today. The entire lower bowl of the stadium is full and the upper decks are pretty full, as well. It's loud in there, which must be quite the experience for the athletes competing.
1:53 p.m. CT
The men's 4x200-meter relay finishes eighth in the Championship of America event. We're down to two races today for the Sooners. Tre Lathan is up next in the men's 110-meter hurdles at 2:20 p.m. CT.

The men's 4xmile relay finishes fourth in the Championship of America event, running 16:22.04. We have video from the crowd during the men's 4x100-meter relay USA vs. The World. Also got some pictures during that and the 4xmile. We'll work on getting those up soon. OU's next race is the college men's 4x200 Championship of America at 1:45 p.m. CT.

We noted yesterday that there are several countries represented at the Penn Relays. None more so than Jamaica. With America's best going up against the world's best in about 20 minutes, there's no doubt the fans cheering for Jamaica will be heard. On the walk to the stadium this morning, they easily out-numbered everyone else -- by a lot. We'll try to get a picture during the professional events to give you an idea of what we're looking at.
11 a.m. CT
Saturday at the Penn Relays features not only the collegiate action but NBC airs The USA vs. The World event from noon-2 p.m. CT. We'll be back with updates throughout the day as OU competes in four events, including the 4xmile and 4x800-meter relays.

Brooks wasn't the only Sooner to win a title at Drake. Brittany Borman won the women's javelin throw. A complete recap of today's action from Iowa and Pennsylvania is available now.

The Sooners are done for the day. OU will not run the 4x400-meter relay or the sprint medley relay as scheduled. We'll have a complete recap of today's action here and at the Drake Relays posted soon.

The building next door to Franklin Field is none other than The Palestra. The Palestra opened in 1927, one year before OU's McCasland Field House. The Palestra has played host to numerous events and teams. Wilt Chamberlain even played in the building while attending a Philadelphia area high school.
2:18 p.m. CT
An update from Des Moines: Tia Brooks wins the women's shot put title at the Drake Relays. Brooks extended her program record to 60-7.25 (18.47m). The mark is a Drake Relays record, the best in the NCAA this year, second best by an American and ninth best in the world. It also meets the Olympic A standard for the event. She also defends her title in the event.
2:05 p.m. CT
We've added a few photos from around the event. There's more to come. OU still has a few events scheduled for today. Click on the image below to access the photo gallery.
1:53 p.m. CT
Just took a walk around the stadium to see what the crowd looked like on the outside. The stands are starting to fill up as the day goes on. Also took in a race from the stands to get an idea of how loud the crowd really is (and they're loud). The spectrum of this meet is worldwide. The Jamaicans are known for being here annually, but we heard teams introduced from the Bahamas and South Africa.
1:25 p.m. CT
OU runs 1:24.66 to finish second in the first heat of the men's 4x200-meter relay, fifth overall. The Sooners advance to Saturday's championship final of the event at 1:45 p.m. CT.
12:16 p.m. CT
The Sooners won the first heat of the college men's 4x100-meter relay in 41.38 seconds. The time ranks 21st overall.
11:45 a.m. CT
We've had our first Bill Cosby sighting of the Penn Relays. The comedian/actor is a regular at the event. We'll post some photos from the infield soon.
11 a.m. CT
We're live from Franklin Field for the 118th Penn Relays. OU's first event is scheduled for 11:40 a.m. CT with the men's 4x100-meter relay prelims. We'll be back later with photos and updates.

Practice Day | April 26, 2012 |
Today was a practice day for the team in the area around the track. The collegiate portion of the meet officially begins today. Tomorrow, OU's men compete at the Penn Relays for the first time since 1997. Action at the Drake Relays in Des Moines is underway.
Some of us managed to get out to Center City this morning. An overcast day provided a cool backdrop to walk one of the most historic cities in the nation.
Jessica Engel opened the long weekend for the Sooners this evening by winning the women's 5,000-meter run at the Drake Relays.

Tonight, we answered the Pat's or Geno's question, but we're not telling.

Dream Come True | April 24, 2012 |
Andrew Gilman met up with Riley Masters and Jamel Wood on Tuesday to talk about running at The Penn Relays. Interesting perspective from both -- Riley ran at the event when he was at the University of Maine. Jamel has never been, but he's always dreamed of running there. We're leaving on a jet plane tomorrow and come Friday, Jamel's dream will come true.

Next Stop: Philadelphia | April 23, 2012 |
The Sooners are headed to Philadelphia for The Penn Relays! We'll be live blogging from the event and from activities around the area as the track and field world (literally) takes over America's most historic city. Check back later in the week for information regarding the meet.
In the meantime, we're letting you tell us what to do in the City of Brotherly Love. Rocky statue? Pat's or Geno's? Where do you want to see the OU logo? Send us a reply on Twitter and look for the photos and video later this week.
Many thanks to the University of Pennsylvania for the photo of Franklin Field.
