NORMAN, Okla. — No. 8/9 Oklahoma softball returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Austin Peay at 5 p.m. at Marita Hynes Field. The 14-3 Sooners have won their last five games dating back to last Wednesday's 4-1 win over North Texas while Austin Peay (6-7) has lost three of its last five. Tuesday's game will be the first of the season to be televised by The Sooner Sports Network and will air on Cox Channel 3 and 703 with Chad McKee calling the action.

After 17 games, the Sooners are led at the plate by Jessica Shults who has a .451 batting average and a team best 23 hits. Seven different Oklahoma players have at least 11 hits while four have at least 11 RBIs, including three with 16. Shults (2) joins Keilani Ricketts (3), Brittany Williams (4) and freshman Lauren Chamberlain (4) with multiple home runs. As a team, Oklahoma is hitting .304.

Ricketts leads the team in the pitching circle with 132 strikeouts in 75.1 innings of action. The junior is 8-3 on the year with five shutouts, one save and ERA of 1.12. Ricketts is one of two pitchers on the Oklahoma staff with at least six wins as Michelle Gascoigne remains undefeated at 6-0. The junior has 49 strikeouts in 29.1 innings of action.

Tickets for the game start at just $4 and fans at the game can pick up 50 cent hot dogs and cokes while supplies last.
