NORMAN, Okla. – OU women's tennis head coach David Mullins and assistant coach Brook Connelly open the Oklahoma Energy Tennis Classic in Oklahoma City Sunday that features a head to head matchup between Mardy Fish and Andy Roddick.

Mullins and Connelly will play in a single-set Bedlam mixed doubles match to start the event.  The OU coaches face Oklahoma State's Chris Haworth and Jamea Jackson.

“I am really happy that we are having an event like this for tennis in Oklahoma,” Mullins said. “Anything that draws positive attention to our sport is great.”

Haworth is the reigning National High School Player of the Year while Jackson is the OSU assistant women's tennis coach and a former top-45 WTA player.

“This is a great opportunity to promote our rising tennis programs here at OU,” Mullins added. “I am sure it will be a fun entertaining evening for all involved and we are hoping for a good turnout.”

Following the Bedlam match Andy Roddick and brother John Roddick will play a pro-set doubles match against Fish and Tulsa-native David Martin.  John Roddick is also the current OU head coach.

Headlining the event is the singles match between Roddick and Fish.

The Bedlam event begins at 6 p.m., at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
