NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma head rowing coach Leeanne Crain has announced the signing of two student-athletes a National Letters of Intent. Kellie O'Reilly and Abbie Seremek begin competing for the Sooners during the 2011-12 academic year.

"We are really excited to have Kellie and Abbie joining our Sooner squad next fall," Crain said. "Both are proven athletes, having had tremendous success in their respective high school programs. In addition to the talent and experience they bring, they are perfect fits for our program."

O'Reilly rowed at Great Bridge High School in Chesapeake, Va., as a member of the Great Bridge Crew Club. She was given the club's strength award in 2010 for best pound for pull and took third at the Mid-Atlantic Erg Pull in 2010 and the Hampton Roads Erg Pull in 2009.

O'Reilly received honors for placing second in 2009 and third in 2010 at the Virginia state championships. In 2009, O'Reilly also tallied a fifth place-finish at the SRAA Nationals and a 10th place finish at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, both in the junior four event. O'Reilly participated in Row for the Cure for breast cancer awareness in 2009 and 2010, earning the Pink Oar trophy for raising the most money as a team.

She is the daughter of Lisa and Sean O'Reilly and has one sibling, Ashley.

Seremek rowed for the Lincoln Park Juniors while attending Oak Park and River Forest High Schools in Oak Park, Ill. She also played volleyball for two years, winning the conference championship in 2008. She claimed first at the midwest championships in 2008, 2009 and 2010 with the Juniors.

"I fell in love with the school," Seremek said. "I visited and felt really welcomed and already a part of the Sooner family."

She is the daughter of Joyce Seremek and has one sibling, Kate Seremek.

"They have had success, but have a lot of room for continued development as Division I athletes," Crain said. "I'm confident that they'll help us in our pursuit of building a championship program."
