AUSTIN, Texas — The Oklahoma men's 4x1,500-meter run ran just a second off the winning time to finish second in the event Friday at the Texas Relays. The quartet of Bill Kogel, George Alex, Kevin Williams and Kevin Schwab clocked a time of 15:27.17, finishing just behind the winning time of 15:26.34 run by Texas.
The two teams competing against a stiff wind in the Austin area ran away from the rest of the field as Arkansas finished third with a time of 15:45.29.
Individually, Patrick Gomez took seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:18.37 while Ross Larimer was 10th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:53.70.
