A LOOK AT WEDNESDAY
The 15th-ranked University of Oklahoma softball team closes out its current three-game homestand Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. CT against 19th-ranked Oklahoma State at the OU Softball Complex in the Bedlam Series presented by Oklahoma Farm Bureau. The game airs statewide on Cox Channel 3 in Oklahoma City and Tulsa with Toby Rowland and former Sooner All-American Amber Flores on the call. The game also airs locally on KREF 1400 AM with Brian Brinkley.
A LOOK AT OKLAHOMA AS A TEAM
• Oklahoma is 8-7 against ranked opponents this season and 173-152 all-time against ranked teams. OU is 16-8 against a ranked OSU team.
• Oklahoma is 204-67 all-time in Big 12 games. OU split with Texas Tech, Nebraska and Baylor. The Sooners swept Kansas.
• Oklahoma has hit 56 home runs this year; seven of those are grand slams.
• OU has played one of the nation's toughest schedules to date. After this weekend, OU will have played 18 games against ranked opponents.
• Including the postseason, OU played 20 ranked opponents in 2010. OU's current schedule would have the Sooners playing potentially 23 ranked teams.
• OU hasn't faced that many ranked opponents since facing 25 in the 2003 season (16-9).
• The Sooners are 15-10 against the April 3rd RPI top 50, 7-7 against the top 25 and 4-2 against the top 10.

A LOOK AT OKLAHOMA INDIVIDUALLY
• Senior Dani Dobbs set a new single game best in the second game against Kansas on April 6. Dobbs went 5-for-5 at the plate.
• She's the first Sooners to have five or more hits in a game since Amber Flores had five against Iowa State in 2009.
• Freshman Destinee Martinez leads OU and the Big 12 with 57 hits. She leads OU with a .363 batting average.
• After playing outfield all of last season and the majority of this year, Brianna Turang made the move to second base this year.
• Martinez and Turang have been consistent at the top of the order for the Sooners. Last week, the duo was responsible for 12 of OU's 44 hits.
• Turang hit .571 in the Baylor series (4-for-7), while Martinez hit .500 (3-for-6).
• Senior Chana'e Jones continues to have a breakthrough season. Jones has set single season highs in the majority of offensive categories.
• She's also playing a new defensive position - first base. Jones is errorless in conference games and been responsible for several highlight-reel plays.
• Keilani Ricketts' 625 strikeouts are fourth on the career list and nine away from tying for third-place. Ricketts averages 11.58 K's per game.
• In her 24 starts in the circle, she has registered double-digit strikeouts 16 times.
• Ricketts leads the Big 12 in strikeouts (279), innings pitched (168.2), appearances (32), games started (24) and complete games (21).
• Ricketts has 21 career shutouts, eighth on the career all-time list. She struck out a career-high 17 batters against DePaul on March 17.
• Jessica Shults, Brittany Williams and Haley Nix have provided the OU offense power this year.
• Shults leads OU with 18 home runs, 55 runs batted in and a .825 slugging percentage.
• Shults' 18 home runs are a new single season best for her. The OU single season record is 20 (Lisa Carey, 2000 and Lynette Velazquez, 1999).
• Shults has two grand slams this year. Nix has the other two. Ricketts, Williams and Dobbs have the others.
• Williams leads the Sooners and Big 12 with 41 walks drawn this season. She also leads the team with a .548 on-base percentage.
• Nix leads the team with a .357 batting average in conference games (10-for-28).
• Head coach Patty Gasso won her 800th Division I game on March 19 against No. 4 Washington. Gasso is 806-261-2 (.754) in 17 years at OU.
• Gasso is the 20th active coach to reach the mark and 30th all-time at the NCAA Division I level.
• Gasso is 968-320-2 (.750) in 21 seasons as a head coach. She needs 32 wins for career win No. 1,000.
A LOOK AT THE SERIES HISTORY
• The series between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State is tied 69-69. OU leads 32-21 in games played in Norman.
• Gasso is 40-11 against Oklahoma State. OU took the previous non-conference meeting this year (7-0) in Oklahoma City on March 5.
• Oklahoma is 8-2 in the last 10 series meetings and 10-0 in the last 10 meetings in Norman.
• Oklahoma State has not won in Norman since May 17, 1997 (5-3). OU's home streak against the Cowgirls is 13 games.
