NORMAN, Okla. -- Thursday night at Marita Hynes Field will see one of Oklahoma Softball's toughest challenges yet as it takes on a team of All-Stars from the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) League that features six former Olympians. The exhibition contest will feature a rematch of the 2010 NCAA Super Regional that saw Washington eliminate OU from postseason competition as the NPF Team plans to start former UW pitcher and two-time NCAA Player of the Year Danielle Lawrie against Oklahoma's Keilani Ricketts who is coming off an All-American season of her own.
The contest is slated to begin at 7 p.m. with ticket prices set at $8 for general admission, $5 for youth, $4 for senior citizens and free admission for OU students with a valid student ID. Players from both teams will be available following the game for an autograph session.
It will be an undefeated match up, as the NPF All-Star team enters Norman, its 18th stop on the NPF Back to School Tour sponsored by USSSA and Major League Baseball, with a perfect 17-0 record while the Sooners hold a fall record of 7-0. OU has outscored its fall opponents 94-4 over the seven fall contests. The NPF squad has not been scored on its last six games while plating 30 runs of its own.
