NORMAN, Okla. — The Oklahoma softball program claimed its own Fall Festival as it defeated Connors State 10-0 in a six-inning run-rule victory on Sunday to finish the weekend event with a record of 4-0. The Sooners outscored their Fall Festival opponents 34-3 with Sunday's win their second run-rule victory of the festival. OU collected 13 hits Sunday while no hitting Connors State as OU moved to 7-0 in the fall.
The Sooners first got on the board with two runs in the bottom of the second before adding three more in the bottom of the third. OU went back-to-back innings without a run before plating five runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game an inning early.
OU opened the festival on Friday with a 10-0 win over Odessa College before winning back-to-back games versus North Central Texas (8-2) and Murray State (6-1) on Saturday.
Next up for the Sooners is a Thursday night exhibition contest versus the National Pro Fastpitch All-Stars. The contest at Marita Hynes Field kicks off at 7 p.m. and will feature a squad made up of All-Stars from the NPF's four teams including six former Olympians.
