The fall season kicks off October 9 with the Head of the Oklahoma on the Oklahoma River. Fall regattas include the Head of the Charles in Boston, Head of the Colorado in Austin, Texas and Head of the Hooch in Chattanooga, Tenn.
“We've got a great schedule in place for the 2010-11 season,” Crain said. “We'll face some tough competition in the early spring season when we travel to Austin for the Longhorn Invitational and again at the San Diego Crew Classic when we face off against some fast crews from the Pac-10.”
Oklahoma hosts its opening spring regatta March 11-13. The Sooners will compete in dual format racing against Tulsa, Kansas, Creighton, SMU at the OU Invitational. The spring season also features several premier regattas including the San Diego Crew Classic, a race that features top teams from around the nation. Oklahoma travels to Austin, Texas for the Longhorn Invitational and faces Michigan and Indiana in Ann Arbor, Mich., before heading to the Big 12 Championship and Conference USA Championship.
“One of our goals this season is to break into the Top 20 and this year's schedule, although tough, should provide us an opportunity to show our speed against some of the best teams in the country” Crain added.
