NORMAN, Okla. -
The University of Oklahoma rowing team takes on Alabama and Old Dominion in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Saturday, April 3.  Racing begins at 10:30 a.m. CT on the Black Warrior River with three varsity races and two novice races.

Oklahoma enters this weekend coming off a strong performance at the San Diego Crew Classic. The first varsity eight placed first in its heat to advance to the Grand Finals, finishing second in the Cal Cup. The first novice eight also qualified for the Grand Finals and finished in third place.

The first varsity eight is led by coxswain Kelsey Witten, Rebecca Staff, Chelsea Moore, Meagan Harrell, Meghan Farrell, Nicole Furmanek, Nicole Bladow, Rebecca Winchester and Sarah Kelle.

OU's second varsity eight is comprised of coxswain Amanda Hoffman, Melea McCreary, Ally Gray, Kat Rabe, Brooke Sheppard, Brooke Holleman, Brooke Homer, Abbey LaFollette and Monique Gaines.  The second varsity eight placed first last week in the third final at the Crew Classic.

The varsity four get back on the water after a week off. The last competition for the varsity four was the Longhorn Invitational.  Coxswain Haley Brown, Sam Fahed, Kat Passlack, Paige Gero and Taylor Rowley comprise the varsity four.

The first novice eight is led by Carly Schueler, Ashley LaFolette, Elizabeth Blanche, Morgan Whinery, Sara Sherrer, Kelsey O'Grady, Lena Eagle Road, Heather House and McKenzie Lee.

The second novice eight is composed of coxswain Tricia Vanscoy, Kiley Poppino, Mary Cox, Lena Eagle Road, Elizabeth Middleton, Lisa Jett, Kaylee Johnson, Olivia Coleman and Ashylyn Hartquist.
