Gasso, Sooners Meet the Media

NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma head softball coach Patty Gasso and selected OU players met with members of the media Wednesday afternoon. Gasso was joined by seniors Lindsey Vandever and Amber Flores and freshman Keilani Ricketts. During the session, OU discussed the newest members of the team, returning players and the Sooners' projected lineup for 2010.

OU begins the season ranked 11th in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25. Oklahoma was selected to win the Big 12 title in the preseason coaches' poll. The Sooners return 12 letterwinners from last season's Big 12 Championship team. The 2009 squad went 41-16 overall and 14-4 in the Big 12.

Oklahoma begins the 2010 season next weekend, Feb. 12-14 at Dot Richardson's National Softball Collegiate Invitational in Clermont, Fla. The Sooners' home opener against St. Gregory's is slated for Feb. 16.
