NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma softball team will have seven games televised locally during the 2010 season. The broadcasts will air via the Sooner Sports Network on Cox Channel 7 in Oklahoma City and Cox Channel 3 in Tulsa.

"We are thrilled for the opportunity to showcase our program within the state,” said OU Head Coach Patty Gasso. “While the sport of softball is big in Oklahoma, these television opportunities give us a chance to introduce our rich tradition to others who don't know much about it.  It is very exciting for us."

The first game can be seen on Wednesday, March 3 against Tulsa.  First pitch between the Sooners and the Golden Hurricane is slated for 6 p.m.

The addition of the televised games in 2010 adds on to the expanded coverage provided by the Sooner Sports Network with KREF 1400-AM serving as the new flagship of OU softball in 2010.  The station will air 12 regular season games while the April 28 Bedlam contest will be available statewide on various stations via the Sooner Sports Network.

In addition to airing on Cox, all televised games will also be available in OU All-Access, the premium site on SoonerSports.com, allowing fans everywhere to view the games. All-Access subscriptions are available in monthly ($9.95) and annual ($99.95) packages. Find out more here.

The Sooners ' April 18 contest against Texas has been scheduled to air nationally on ESPN.
