NORMAN, Okla. – The No. 16 ranked University of Oklahoma men's cross country team won the White race at the Pre-Nationals meet this past weekend defeating nine ranked teams in the process. Oklahoma compiled 106 points in its route to victory with senior Rob Sorrell leading the Sooners with an 11th-place finish followed by junior Kevin Schwab who finished 15th.

The University of Oklahoma men's cross country team remains at No. 2 for the sixth straight week in the Midwest Region and the Oklahoma women's team jumps back into the rankings at No. 14 in the latest regional rankings provided Monday by the U.S Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Last week, the women's team was led by Molly Ferguson as the Sooners finished ninth out of 56 teams Saturday at the 22nd annual Chile Pepper Festival on the University of Arkansas Cross Country Course. The Sooners finished with 369 points.

Next up for the Sooners is the 2010 Big 12 Cross Country Championships on Oct. 30 in Stillwater, Okla.
