NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma junior golfer Liam Logan and OU men's assistant Phillip Bryan are among 156 players teeing off in the 84th U.S. Amateur Public Links, held July 13-18, at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club on the OU campus.
It marks the first time the prestigious event has ever been contested on a university course and is also the first USGA event played in Norman.
Logan will tee off at 8:03 a.m. (CT) from the 10th tee, while Bryan has a 1:55 p.m. start on the front nine.
The field has been narrowed to 156 golfers, mostly through sectional qualifying events, from a total of 3,342 entries. The qualifying events were held at 74 sites from June 8-28.
The tournament features 36 holes of stroke play beginning Monday, with the field being pared to 64 for match play concluding Tuesday's final stroke-play round.

Through recent renovations, the course will play at 7,289 yards and a par of 35-36--71. The USGA course rating for this week's event is 75.5, with a slope rating of 130.
Along with a gold medal and custody of the James D. Standish Jr. Cup for the ensuing year, the champion likely receives an invitation to compete in the next Masters Tournament, if still an amateur.
Admission is free all six days of the event. Tickets are not needed for this USGA championship and spectators are encouraged to attend.
