SURREY, B.C. - Oklahoma seniors Amber Flores and Lindsey Vandever continued play at the 16th Canada Cup International Women's Fastpitch Tournament Thursday afternoon. The A's won their first game of the day against the Washington Absolute Blast, 7-0, via forfeit. The squad then dropped the host White Rock Renegade Jr. in the second game, 10-5.

Flores went 2-for-4 driving in one run, while Vandever led the charge, going 2-for-4 and scoring two runs and driving in two. Incoming junior Haley Nix went 1-for-4 with a run scored, while incoming freshman Brianna Turang was 1-for-2.
Vandever and Nix each singled in the first inning with Vandever scoring on a single later in the inning. Flores doubled in the third for her first hit of the afternoon. Flores then singled in the fourth to score one run. In the sixth, Turang singled and then scored on Vandever's second hit, a double. Nix then reached later in the inning on a throwing error that saw Vandever plate another run. Nix scored on another White Rock error.
Another incoming rookie, Keilani Ricketts, picked up the win in the circle. Ricketts allowed one hit in 2 2/3 innings of work. She walked one and fanned four. Starter Michelle Gascoigne allowed five earned runs and seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.
The team finished round robin play in second place in the women's North American division and now advance to play Venezuela in the International Championship round. The game is scheduled for Friday at 5:30 p.m. CT. Live line scores can be found at www.CanadaCup.com.
