NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma senior softball players Amber Flores and Lindsey Vandever take part in the 16th Canada Cup International Women's Fastpitch Tournament, beginning on Saturday, July 4, in Surrey, B.C. The duo begins round-robin competition with the California Activities on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. CT against the Delta Sunfire. Following round-robin play, teams advance to a double elimination playoff round.

Flores was named to the NFCA All-America first team. The Big 12 Player of the Year and first team all-conference selection averaged .416 on the year, hitting 62-for-149. Flores was issued a single-season record 49 walks was hit by a pitch 19 times. Flores drove in 58 runs while scoring 64. Hitting in the second spot, Flores had a season-high 18 home runs, 12 doubles and produced a slugging percentage of .872. Flores also produced an on-base percentage of .594. Her totals in slugging and on-base percentage were also single season OU records.
Vandever was named to the NFCA All-Central region first team and earned All-Big 12 second team honors. She hit .302 in 2009, driving in 48 runs on the year and scored 35. In conference play, she drove in 10 and scored seven, while drawing 12 walks. Behind the plate, Vandever had a .995 fielding percentage.
Flores and Vandever are the only two seniors on Patty Gasso's projected 2010 roster. The Sooners finished 41-14 and 14-4 in conference play to win their fourth Big 12 regular season title.
