Duo Finishes Fourth at USA Championships

BOSTON — Oklahoma alums DaBryan Blanton and Tydree Lewis closed out Oklahoma action at the 2009 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships Sunday in the Reggle Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston. The duo ended the two-day event with fourth-place finishes as Blanton accomplished the feat in the 60-meter dash and Lewis in the triple jump.

The Oklahoma program record holder in the 60, Blanton recorded a time of 6.61 in the finals of the event after posting the same time in the event's prelims. Mark Jelks, competing for Nike, won the event with a time of 6.51.

Also the OU program record holder in the indoor triple jump, Lewis claimed his fourth-place finish with a distance of 50-9.25 (15.47). Brandon Roulhac of the Shore Athletic Club won the event with a distance of 55-7.00 (16.94).

Two other OU alums were in action Sunday as Toni Smith and Portia Nash competed in the women's long jump. Smith finished eighth with a top jump of 20-4.25 (6.20) while Nash took ninth with a distance of 20-1.00 (6.12).
