Rowing Preview: Head of the Charles

NORMAN, Okla. --The University of Oklahoma rowing team competes in Boston, Mass., at the Head of the Charles Sunday, Oct. 18.
The Head of the Charles, started in 1965, is in its 45th year of competition and is the largest two-day rowing event in the world. More than 7,500 athletes from across the globe race in 55 different events on the winding three-mile race course.
Oklahoma races in the in the women's championship eight at 3:20 p.m. CT. The Sooners are led by coxswain Kelsey Witten, Rebecca Staff, Chelsea Moore, Meagan Harrell, Brooke Sheppard, Abbey LaFollette, Meghan Farrell, Melea McCreary and Ashley LaFollette.
Oklahoma's last time out on the water was at the Boot of the Oklahoma where the Sooners finished sixth in the Varsity 8, fourth in the Varsity 4 and second in the Novice 8.
