Softball Reports for Spring Semester

NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma softball players reported to campus Monday to begin preparations for the 2009 season. OU head coach Patty Gasso, associate head coach Melyssa Lombardi and assistant coach Tripp Mackay welcomed 13 returning student-athletes and six newcomers.

“The coaching staff was very pleased with the team's fall season, so our plan is to continue where we left off,” Gasso said. “The goal is for each player to get sharp and gameday ready in a three week period. We anticipate some intense and productive practices.  We are very excited to get the team back together and we look forward to a special season."

Oklahoma opens the year Feb. 5-7 at the Hawai'i Paradise Classic in Honolulu. The Sooners host their home opener on Feb. 18 in a 2 p.m. doubleheader with Stephen F. Austin.
