NORMAN, Okla. – Former University of Oklahoma golfer Kelsey Cline has been named head coach of the Oklahoma Christian men's golf program.  The appointment was announced Thursday by OC director of athletic operations Chuck White.

Cline played for the Sooners from 1997 to 2001 and was an All-Big 12 and all-region selection at Oklahoma.  The Mustang, Okla., product was the Big 12 Tournament runner-up as a senior in 2001. Cline tallied five career top-10 finishes during his time in the OU program.

Cline has played in multiple PGA Tour events and was also named the 2002 Tight Lies Tour Player of the Year.

The former OU golfer has caddied 15 PGA Tour events for fellow Sooner Hunter Haas, a college teammate and close friend.

Cline has been extensively involved in golf camps and player development since 2000.

Cline is the third head coach in the modern era of OC golf. He replaces David Lynn, who resigned in June after leading the Eagles to a runner-up finish at the NAIA National Tournament.

Residing in Norman, Cline had worked in marketing for the Marc Heitz Auto Group before taking the helm of the OC program.
