NORMAN, Okla. -- As a bonus to OU softball fans, SoonerSports.com will provide a weekly glimpse of several Sooners playing in the National Pro Fastpitch League this summer.
Today's installment takes a look at the players' performance since our last update. Check back throughout the summer for an updated look at the Sooner in the professional ranks.
Entering a series with Philadelphia, the Akron Racers were five games behind the first-place Force and hoping to chip away at that margin. After taking 3-of-4 from Philadelphia, Akron now sits three games out of first and is in third place at 11-9 between Philadelphia and last year's defending champion, Washington.
Through the first three games of the series with Philadelphia Susan Ogden was the driving force behind the Racers with a crucial RBI to decide game one, going 1-for-2 with one RBI in game two and blasting a two run home run in game three. The Racers closed out the four-game set with a 3-2 victory. During that game, Norelle Dickson went 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Racers.
Ogden is batting .229 on the season with seven RBIs and three home runs, while Dickson is batting .389, a team-high and second in the league. Dickson also has eight stolen bases and carries a .488 on-base percentage.
