OU Finishes 10th at ASU Invitational

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's golf team shot a final-round 291 (+7) on Sunday to move four spots up the leaderboard, finishing 10th at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational at the Par-71, 7057-yard Karsten Course.
It was OU's seventh top-10 finish during the 2007-08 season and third this spring.
Hosting the 16-team tournament, Arizona State took home the team title at nine-under as the Sun Devils were the only team in red figures for the event. Espen Kofstad of Denver shot a final-round 68 (-3) in winning medalist honors, finishing the tournament at 3-under par for a one-stroke victory.
Leading the Sooners was sophomore Eric Durbin who finished in a tie for 38th at seven-over for the tournament after rounds of 73, 73 and 74. Fellow sophomore Ben Blundell charged to 40th (+8) after a OU tournament-low 69 on Sunday.

Two strokes back of Blundell were the duo of Phillip Bryan and Jesse Schutte who finished in a tie for 52nd. Rounding out the OU team scoring was freshman Liam Logan who rebounded from rounds of 78 and 76 with a final-round 71 (E) and placed T65th.
Competing individually was freshman Ryan Sirman who joined Blundell at +8 after rounds of 71, 73 and 77.
Oklahoma returns to action April 25-27 as the Sooners seek their second conference title in three years at the 2008 Big 12 Championship in Trinity, Texas.
