Five Sooners Added to NCAA Field

NORMAN, Okla. --  Five Oklahoma track and field student-athletes who had previously recorded NCAA provisional qualifying marks were added to the official field for this weekend's NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships.

The five join triple jumper Shardae Boutte who had previously posted an NCAA automatic qualifying mark. Boutte enters the meet as the nation's top-ranked jumper with a school-record mark of 54-1.00 (16.48).

Teammate Tydree Lewis, who is ranked No. 8 nationally in the event, will join Boutte in the triple jump.

Marcus Pugh and Sheldon Leith will compete in the 60-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles, respectively. Pugh is currently ranked eighth nationally while Leith is seventh in the hurdles.

On the women's side Leslie Cole (400-meter dash) and Latoya Greaves (60-meter hurdles) will represent OU.

Greaves heads into the weekend ranked 11th in the 60-meter hurdles while Cole moved up to 15th in the 400-meter dash after running a season-best time of 53.44 in Saturday's Last Chance Qualifier.

The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the Randal Tyson Track Complex in Fayetteville, Ark. Action kicks off Friday morning at 9:45 a.m. with the men's heptathlon. Leith will be Oklahoma's first competitor with the men's 60-meter hurdles kicking off at 5:05 p.m.
