NORMAN, Okla. — The University of Oklahoma softball team continued their fall schedule at the OU Softball Complex at Marita Hynes Field on Friday night with a pair of no-hitters over Rose State College and Murray State College, run-ruling both teams after five innings with scores of 10-0 and 12-0 respectively.

In the nightcap, freshman left handed pitcher Allee Allen shined in the circle for the Sooners tossing a no-hitter and shut down the Murray State Aggies striking out 12 batters overall, including striking out the side twice.

Oklahoma would pick up three runs on five hits in the first inning after sophomore outfielders Krystle Huey and Chana'e Jones led off with back-to-back singles. Junior second baseman Amber Flores would drive in Huey on a fly ball to the outfield making the score 1-0. Senior first baseman Samantha Ricketts would follow with another single scoring Jones and sophomore Wendy Trott's single put runners on third and first. Sophomore third baseman Dani Dobbs had the Sooners fifth hit of the inning that scored Ricketts and gave OU the lead 3-0.

The Oklahoma offense added four runs on four hits onto the scoreboard in the second inning after Amber Flores drew a walk and a Samantha Ricketts hit brought Krystle Huey across home plate. Wendy Trott would then hit a three-run homer over the right field wall making the score 7-0.

The Sooner offense would come alive again in the fifth inning when Krystle Huey drove in Dani Dobbs with an RBI triple making the score 8-0. The score would quickly change again as Chana'e Jones delivered a two-run homer giving the Sooners a 10-0 lead. Amber Flores would follow Jones with a double and Samantha Ricketts with another double as well making the score 11-0. A Wendy Trott single put two runners on base for catcher Lindsey Vandever and the junior from Davenport, Okla., would single bringing home another run.

Oklahoma had 17 hits on the evening. Wendy Trott was 4 for 4, three singles and home run, with three runs batted in and Samantha Ricketts had a big night as well going 3 for 4, two singles and a double, with three runs batted in.

Earlier in the afternoon, Oklahoma rolled to victory over Rose State College behind the strong arms of freshmen Samantha Bachman and Kirsten Allen who combined for a no-hit shut out also.

The Sooners knocked in three runs on four hits in the first inning after sophomore outfielder Haley Anderson led off the game with a double. A Wendy Trott double scored Anderson and a Samantha Ricketts single put two runners on base for freshman catcher Katie Norris. The Stillwater, Okla., native came through with a bases clearing triple bringing home two additional runs.

The Sooners did it again in the second inning scoring another three runs on four hits. Chana'e Jones would step up to the plate with the bases loaded after singles by Jessica Legendre, Evan Sallis, and Haley Anderson. Jones came through in the clutch with a single and two runs batted in and Wendy Trott would knock another run in making the score 6-0.

Oklahoma added another four runs in the fifth inning which was started by a three-run home run by freshman shortstop Karolyne Long that cleared the stands in left field.

The Sooner offense had 13 hits on the afternoon.

Murray State and Rose State open Saturday competition at 11:15 a.m. with Oklahoma taking on St. Gregory's at 1:30 p.m. Following the round robin play, the top seed faces the fourth seed at 3:45 p.m. with the second and third seeds facing off at 6 p.m.

The losers of both contest advance to a consolation game on Sunday morning at 11 a.m., while the winners meet for the tournament championship at 1:15 p.m.

Admission is $4 for general admission and $3 for senior citizens. OU students with student ID and children under three are admitted free.

Limited concessions are available and the Diamond Club will have apparel for sale at all fall events. All proceeds from the tickets, concessions and merchandise go to the Diamond Club, which supports the softball program.

OU's final game of the fall season is slated for Wednesday, Oct. 15 against North Central Texas at 5 p.m. In addition to all scheduled games, the squad will hold an intrasquad scrimmage on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 3:30 p.m. All OU softball practices are open to the public.
