NORMAN, Okla. - After a week off, Norrelle Dickson and the Akron Racers continued play with a four-game series against Team China this past weekend.
The Racers opened the series with a 6-5 win on Thursday. Dickson aided the team with two hits and one run.
In game two of the series, the tables turned with the Racers falling 2-1 to China. Former Sooner Dickson also struggled, going 1-for-3 at the plate.
Neither Dickson nor the team allowed their struggles to last long. In game three of the series the Racers defeated China, 5-2. Dickson contributed two hits in the victory.
The Racers saved their best performance for last defeating Team China 8-2 in the final game of the series Sunday, winning the series 3-1. The team was powered by Dickson after she was hit by a pitch. After taking her place on first, she was brought in by centerfielder Iyhia McMichael's RBI double down the left field line.
The series improved the Racers record to 13-7 for the season. Dickson and two other Racers are leading the team with seven stolen bases each. She is also second on the team with 24 hits.
The Racers will play a benefit game Monday night against the vintage baseball team the Black Stockings before they begin a five-game series with Desno Japan on Wednesday at home.
