NORMAN, Okla - This week Norrelle Dickson and the Akron Racers faced the first-place Washington Glory in a four-games series.
The Racers lost the first game of the series with Dickson going hitless at the plate.
In the second game of the series the Racers won a pitcher's duel 1-0, scoring in the bottom of the ninth with a home run from Tracee McCoy. Dickson did her part going 2-for-3 in the batters box.
The Racers continued to play well winning game three, 5-4. The game went into extra innings after being tied 4-4 but the Racers again found a way to win scoring one run in the bottom of the ninth. Former Sooner Dickson saved her best game for the series finale as she went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
In the fourth game Washington got out to a 3-0 lead and didn't look back winning 9-7. Dickson went 1-for-3 and scored a run.
Norrelle Dickson now leads the team with 37 hits and also leads the team with a .411 batting average.
The Akron Racers have a record of 18-10 and are in third place in the NPF. They are right behind the second-place Rockford Thunder, who own a record of 24-12.
The Racers next series begins Wednesday, August 1 in Akron against the fifth-place Philadelphia Force.
