Ragan Announces 2007-08 Men's Golf Schedule

NORMAN, Okla. --University of Oklahoma head men's golf coach Jim Ragan and OU Vice President for Athletics Program and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione announced the Sooners' 2007-08 schedule on Friday.
OU will compete in 11 regular-season events including stops in Hawaii, California, Arizona, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas and Oklahoma.
The Sooners will compete in four fall tournaments, starting the year in Chattanooga, Tenn., at the Scenic City Invitational on Sept. 10th. After a two week break, the Sooners travel back to the southeast, for the Shoal Creek Invitational in Birmingham, Ala., on Sept. 24th.
OU returns home to host the second-annual Oklahoma Intercollegiate Invitational on Oct. 14th at the famed Oak Tree Golf Club in Edmond, Okla. The venue has played host to numerous elite events including the 2006 senior PGA Championship, the 1988 PGA Championship and the 1984 U.S. Amateur Championship.
Rounding out the fall slate, the Sooners head west to San Jose, Calif., for the Santa Clara Invitational on Oct. 22.
The team will spend nine days in Waikoloa Village, Hawaii, opening up the spring competition slate at the UH-Hilo Intercollegiate Invitational on February 6th.
On Feb. 18th, the Sooners will be in San Antonio, Texas, for the University of Texas San Antonio Intercollegiate.
OU travels back to the west coast for a pair of events including the USC Collegiate Invitational on March 3rd in Westlake Village, Calif., and the Barona Collegiate Cup in San Diego, Calif., on March 17th.
In the final tune-up before the Big 12 Championships, Oklahoma will return to the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., on April 11th.
The conference championship will be held in Trinity, Texas, on April 25th.
As co-hosts with Oklahoma State, the Sooners will return to Dornick Hills Country Club in Ardmore, Okla., for The Maxwell on May 10th.
With the schedule set-up, OU will compete in a match-play competition with a school to be named at a later date. The location for the event has not determined at this time.
The 2008 NCAA Championships will be held May 28-31 in West Lafayette, Ind.
