NORMAN, Okla. - As a bonus to OU softball fans, SoonerSports.com will provide a weekly glimpse of former Sooner Norrelle Dickson in the National Pro Fastpitch league this summer. Today's installment covers the opening week of the NPF season for the Sooner alum. Check back every Monday for an updated look at the Sooner in the professional ranks.

The National Pro Fastpitch League is in its fourth season. Dickson is making her first appearance as she was the sixth overall pick in this year's draft and the top pick by the Akron Racers.

Dickson and the Racers began their season Thursday, June 7 with a four-game series against the Chicago Bandits. The Racers opened the series with a 4-1 win while Dickson opened the season batting second in the line-up and notching two hits.

On Friday, June 8 Akron continued their streak with a 3-2 win over Chicago and Dickson also continued her streak, adding another hit against the Bandits.

The Racers did not let up during the series. On Saturday, they claimed an 8-3 victory, with Dickson contributing one hit and one run in the win.

The team wrapped up the weekend and the four-game series on Sunday with a 4-3 victory.

The Racers are currently 4-0 and ranked No. 1 in the league.

Akron will continue their season with a four-game series against the Rockford Thunder beginning Thursday, June 21 at home in Ohio.
