NORMAN, Okla. The Oklahoma vs. OCU softball game scheduled for Thursday night has been cancelled due to heavy amounts of rain that hit the Norman area. The non-conference game, which was OU's final regular season game, will not be rescheduled.
However, the Sooners will still have Senior Night at the field Thursday night. Despite the game being cancelled, the team and staff will honor the six seniors at approximately 6:45 p.m. at the OU Softball Complex.
Fans are encouraged to attend the ceremony that will recognize the six-member class of Stacia Aleman, Norrelle Dickson, Jamie Fox, Mariee Mena, Jade Prather and Amber Spaulding.
The No. 3 Sooners finished the regular season with a 49-6 overall record and a 14-4 mark in Big 12 action. Oklahoma currently sits in third in the Big 12 race but other remaining conference games scheduled for this weekend will determine OU's final standing.
A Baylor (12-3) and Missouri (12-3) loss this weekend would make Oklahoma the Big 12 Champions. Baylor faces Texas at 6:30 p.m. tonight and Texas A&M at 4 p.m. on Saturday while Missouri hosts Nebraska in a two-game series this weekend.
The Big 12 Championship begins May 10-12 at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
