NORMAN, Okla. - Watch video of the No. 1 Oklahoma softball team (55-6) winning the Amherst Regional and advancing on to a Super Regional against 14th-seeded DePaul. 

The Sooners defeated Colgate, 5-2, in opening-round action and shut out host school UMass, 2-0, to advance on to the regional final.  Oklahoma defeated UMass, 6-3, in the final to advance to its second Super Regional in the last three years. 

Junior pitcher Lauren Eckermann threw all three games for the Sooners, recording a 0.67 ERA while stirking out 19 batters in 21 innings.  Eckermann only walked one batter the entire regional while only giving up two earned runs in three complete games.

Offensively, Samantha Ricketts and Jamie Fox led the way for the Sooners as they each recorded a .429 average.  Ricketts led the team with four RBI in the regional while Traci Dickenson also added two for the Sooners.

The No. 1 Oklahoma softball team will host an NCAA Super Regional this Saturday and Sunday against DePaul.  The opening game of regional action is set for Saturday at 11 a.m. (CST) at the OU Softball Complex.  Sunday's action will begin at 12 p.m. followed by an "if necessary" game at 2 p.m.

All of the action will be carried live by ESPN (Cox Ch. 29 in OKC).
